FAITHK

FAITHK (b. 1999, Guam) is based in Utah with over 4+ years of experience. She studied Digital Photography & Digital Audiences (BA) at Arizona State University and later attended a UX/UI Design bootcamp to further enhance her skills.

She’s worked on a variety of projects where she has collaborated with cross-functional teams, to craft together intuitive designs for the SaaS, education & healthcare space — that has helped make the connection between humans & technology a little easier.

She’s comfortable working on a range of projects, whether it is sketching out new ideas, building wireframes, doing user research, creating a print, or bringing out the paintbrushes — Faith always brings a quality of work & creativity to whatever project she is on.

She currently works as a Creative Coordinator at The Grounded Company in Downtown Salt Lake City, where she focuses on studio production, brand development, and website research and UI design. Outside of TGC, she’s growing her own business, creating and selling prints, stickers, and other artful goods.

Outside of the 9-5, Faith enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and anything the outdoors has to offer. Her curiosity and drive to experience things allows her to strive in finding new ideas that are out of the norm.

SMALL WORDS FROM FAITHK ON VALUES

Have you ever met someone who did not have an ounce of creativity in their bones? In that moment, it’s simple to realize that you're unique and different — and that’s where it all started.

When I was younger, I created a dinky un-hosted blog on WordPress, and I thought it was the best thing created in history. Looking back, I’m happy I thought that such a little thing was seen as an achievement of a lifetime for me. I think it was the excitement of seeing a space be crafted into something beautiful that sparked my passion for design.

Visually, I would say I’ve always paid attention to details — about a room, a person, an image, magazines, color, photography, art. Fashion is another way for me to express myself, putting all the little pieces together to create an outfit — similar to the design process and how I think of it.

I believe we continue to grow as individuals — hoping to evolve as the years come. I’ve built and designed many platforms using Squarespace throughout the years - learning different techniques visually and exercising best practices to then moving into Agency work where, anyone who has worked in that kind of environment, knows to always expect the unexpected!

I believe in simplicity and still living. The world moves fast and I think it’s important to live in stillness — and I’m talking about the stillness that allows us to notice the little things in life that we barely notice most days. This is where we see art in many forms and can find the inspiration to build designs and help humans in the process.

Something I’ve learned from previous years of trying to start a business, to relentlessly working hard to make my blog prominent, to going to college for a few years, and landing in the UX/UI Design field, is the power of failing. I can’t count the number of times I’ve failed and wanted to give up. You never know how close you are to the finish line, no one does. What counts is being persistent and always moving forward.

I believe that I’ve landed where I’m needed to be and that there is so much to learn but also much I can give.
